Amica SMS and Notifications Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 02/27/2025

These Amica SMS and Notifications Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to any use of SMS messaging and notifications (collectively, “SMS”) as part of the Amica SMS and Notifications Service which provides messages and automated notifications to Amica customers, including billing, payment, updates about your account, policy or claim and on-demand unique verification codes or one-time pins sent via text message to a customer’s mobile phone (the “Service”). When you opt-in to the Service, you expressly consent to receive SMS and agree that your participation is voluntary and not a necessary condition of purchasing any goods or services. You also agree to our Online Terms of Use. If you do not agree to the Terms herein, or our Online Terms of Use, you must not participate in the Service.

Text frequency may vary depending on your billing and payment status and the activities related to your policy or claim. Amica may use third-party vendors to enhance the Service features, including SMS sent through an automatic telephone dialing system. Neither Amica nor its third-party vendors have a separate charge for the Service, but message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. By enrolling in the Service, you approve any such charges.

The Service may recognize certain inbound messages and generate an automated reply including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Enroll by replying YES to the enrollment text notification.
  • Unenroll by texting STOP to your unique 10-digit phone number. You will receive a confirmation SMS stating that you’ve been successfully unenrolled.
  • Text HELP to your unique 10-digit phone number, visit Amica.com, or contact us at 833-915-0016 for more information or assistance.

Under the profile section of your Amica.com account, you can change/update your SMS preferences.

Amica may share your information with third-‎parties that help provide SMS services, such as platform providers and phone ‎companies.‎ However, Amica will not share or sell any personal information obtained as part of text messaging ‎communications with you with third parties for their marketing purposes and Amica does not permit its third-party suppliers, vendors, or contractors to sell any ‎personal information obtained in the course of Amica’s business relationship related to text message ‎communications with you.

Amica will not share your consent to receive marketing text messages‎ with its affiliates for marketing purposes unless you have provided consent or permission for the affiliate to make marketing calls to you, you have an established business relationship with the affiliate, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

SMS may be delayed or not delivered due to factors outside of Amica’s or its third-party vendor’s control, and subject to the terms and conditions of your mobile carrier. In emergencies or other periods of high messaging traffic, delivery of SMS could be affected. Amica disclaims responsibility for undelivered notifications, notifications delivered out of order, or other issues arising out of such administrative/technical issues. There are no emergency services available through the Service, and it cannot be used to contact 911.

You acknowledge that unaffiliated third parties could send SMS text messages disguised as alerts from Amica, and that the onus is on you to confirm that SMS received are authentic. Amica will never request sensitive financial, personal or login information through this Service, and if such a request is received, you should promptly inform Amica.

You must be the mobile phone account holder or have permission from the account holder to use the Service and be at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent/guardian. You must unenroll from the Service if you discontinue your mobile phone service, change your mobile phone number or lose your mobile phone. Additionally, you agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from and against any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your provision of a mobile phone number that is not your own, or your violation of applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

You will be participating in the Service once you accept these terms and conditions. We may revise and update these terms and conditions from time to time at our sole discretion or suspend or terminate this Service, with or without notice. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not participate in the Service.
