StreetSmart by Amica™
When our roads are safer, we all benefit. It’s not just about how you drive as an individual – it takes all of us working together to make our roads safer. When everyone practices safe driving, we’re less likely to find ourselves in an unfortunate situation, and it may even help lower rates over time.
That’s why we created StreetSmart by Amica™, a free mobile app designed to enhance your driving experience while rewarding safe driving habits.
What is StreetSmart by Amica™
StreetSmart by Amica™ is a free smartphone app for iOS and Android devices. It provides insights into your driving habits and ways you can improve, helping you become a safer driver. You can earn discounts by avoiding things like speeding, hard braking or phone distraction.
Benefits and ways to save

New and existing policyholders can receive a discount on their policy premium just by participating in the program for the first time. Future discounts may be earned at their next policy renewal based on their driving performance.

A rolling score for 91 days of continuous driving is calculated and captured by the app (this score isn’t visible to users). We use this score to determine if you’re eligible for a discount when your policy renews, and what it might be. A rolling projected discount is based on your overall driving at any time and is shown on the app dashboard. This score is based on:
- Hard braking
- Excessive speeding
- Road segment type
- Phone distraction
- Phone use
- Phone screen tapping
Eligible users who enroll early in their policy period will receive a flat enrollment discount on their current policy, with future discounts adjusted based on their 91-day score at renewal. Users who enroll late in their policy period (not enough time to receive a 91-day score) will get a flat enrollment discount on their renewal policy, with future discounts adjusted after receiving a 91-day score. Total discounts may vary based on timing and the number of eligible users per vehicle. If there are more eligible users than vehicles, they may only receive rewards and not additional discounts.
Rewards for specific safe-driving behaviors are earned when you achieve badges in the StreetSmart app. After earning a reward, the value is automatically added to your balance. Rewards can be redeemed for e-gift cards in $5 increments, and you’ll need a minimum of $5 to redeem. You can choose to redeem rewards as soon as you’ve earned $5, or wait to redeem them when you reach $10, $15, $20, etc.
You can select e-gift cards from popular retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Sephora, Target and Starbucks, or make a charitable donation to organizations like the American Cancer Society and the Special Olympics.
